Log Shells
At Highlands Log Structures, Inc. we specialize in handcrafting. Our basic package includes logwork and re-erection crew only. If it is not a log, then it is not included. Logwork from home to home may vary, depending upon the requirements of the homeowner.
Our basic package includes:
- Main floor exterior logwork
- Door and window cuts
- Door and window keyways
- Door and window layback detail
- Slip joints cut for interior walls
- Insulation between logs
- Bolts and fasteners for logwork
- Log floor joists for second floor
- Post and beam logwork for second floor (not full log - no log siding available)
- Post and beam roof system (ridge and purlin)
- Temporary borate treatment
- Crew for re-erection
Additions to the basic package depending upon homeowners designs and/or structural needs:
- Main floor interior logwork
- Second floor full logwork
- Specialty Log Truss systems
- Specialty Log Bays or unique log concepts
- Log Stairs (Material Only)
- Log Railing (Material Only)
We have found that this package allows customers to get what they want from a log supplier - the logwork. This allows you the flexibility to incorporate the doors, windows, roofing and finishing material of your choice on your own. For those customers who are interested in a more complete package, we can offer a dry-in package as well.
